Since last Monday, the local authorities of Tangier have placed reinforced concrete barriers at the entrance to several neighborhoods. This measure has been taken to limit and control the movement of citizens in these areas, particularly after the discovery of contamination outbreakswith the Coronavirus.
According to sources on Le Site info, these barriers were placed late in the night of Monday 13 July, just a few hours after the announcement of the city’s reconfinement decision.
Several large cranes were used to transport the reinforced concrete blocks to the various locations where the authorities decided to place them. The aim was to prevent the risk of spreading Covid-19, considering that the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region still is the region with the highest number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Morocco.
