On Friday 17 July, the Foundation of Rabat for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage organized a meeting to launch the project to update the management plan for “Rabat, modern capital and historic city, a shared heritage”.
This meeting was co-organized with the Ministry of Culture and the wilaya of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. It falls within the framework of the initiatives taken by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the preservation and enhancement of the capital’s heritage and in accordance with the resolution of the Foundation’s last board of directors, chaired by Princess Lalla Hasnaa on February 14, 2020.
According to a press release issued by the Foundation for the Safeguarding of the Cultural Heritage of Rabat, this meeting was a good opportunity to discuss the conclusions of the evaluation of the first management plan, to start the process of consultation around its updating and to agree on the approach for the development of a new management plan for the period 2021-2025.
Thanks to the participation of all these actors, this meeting brought a new momentum for a better preservation and enhancement of the listed property:
– The start of the process of updating the management plan for the inscribed property.
– The communication of the achievements and achievements to date.
– The engagement of institutional partners, civil society and the private sector in the process to be followed for a better understanding of this process.
