The prefectural service of the Judicial Police of the city of Marrakech opened, Sunday morning, a preliminary investigation about a 37-year-old woman who tried to set herself on fire inside the reception hall of the airport of Marrakech-Menara.
In a statement, the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) indicated that national security elements immediately interfered with the suspect, after she was found to have poured a bottle containing a substance suspected of being flammable over her body. She did so for reasons and motives presumably related to her delay for an internal flight.
The suspect was subjected to a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. This investigation aims to clarify the ins and outs of the case, the same source added.
