Several Moroccan Students in Russia Stranded in Morocco

500 Moroccan students in Russia had to return to Morocco after the suspension of classes due to Covid-19.

Today, they could not return to school because of the prolonged closure of the borders. In order to resume their studies and leave Morocco, they need a permit from the Russian authorities that allows them to enter Russian territory. They contacted the Moroccan Embassy in Moscow several times to find a solution to their problem, but without success.

“Face-to-face classes have resumed since September 1. We are stranded in Morocco because we do not have the necessary authorization,” deplored a young Moroccan woman who is studying medicine in Moscow. She called on Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita to intervene in order to allow them to travel to Russia.

It is worth mentioning that several Moroccan students abroad have left their country of residence to return to Morocco after the launch, last July, of special flights.
