Adnane Case: Lead Suspect Referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office

The initial findings of the investigation reveal that the presumed killer of the young Adnane Bouchouf, took the victim to an apartment he rented in the same residential neighborhood, sexually assaulted him and then proceeded to kill him on the same day and at the same time. The alleged killer then buried him in the area around his home.

The alleged killers’ roommates were also arrested for hiding the crime. According to security sources interviewed by 2M.ma, the roommates recognized their friend from the surveillance camera images posted on social networks without notifying the security services.

The king’s attorney general at the Court of Appeals referred the suspects to the court’s first investigating chamber for further investigation.

As a reminder, representatives of the prefectural service of the judicial police of Tangier had arrested the main suspect on Friday night. Contrary to some reports that the man was unknown in the neighborhood, the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) claimed that the suspect resided near the victim.

Moreover, it is noteworthy that the case shook the entire Moroccan population, reviving the national debate on the reintroduction of the death penalty. Individuals and associations expressed their indignation at this terrible crime, launching a petition that has so far collected nearly 400,000 signatures.
