The Ministry of Health announced, on Wednesday, 4346 new cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19), with 4044 cases cured and 70 deaths, in the previous 24 hours.
The ministry explained on its daily report of the epidemiological assessment of Covid-19 that the new results brought the total number of infected cases in the Kingdom to 364,190 cases since the announcement of the first case on March 2. It also increased the total number of cured cases to 314,237, with a cure rate of 86.3%. Meanwhile, the number of deaths increased to 5,985, maintaining the case-fatality rate at 1.6%.
Cases registered in the previous 24 hours are distributed as follows: Casablanca-Settat (1314), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (942), Souss-Massa (583), Marrakech-Safi (420), Tangier-Tetouan-Hoceima (401), Laayoun-Sakia LHamra (178), l’Oriental (124), Guelmim-Oued Noun (116), Fès-Meknès (84), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (76), Draa-Tafilalet (73), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (35).
Regarding deaths, the Ministry’s report recorded 11 cases in each of Casablanca-Settat and Souss-Massa, 10 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 9 in Fez-Meknes, and 8 in Tangier-Tetouan-Hoceima, 7 in the Oriental, 5 in Marrakech-Safi, 4 in Béni Mellal-Khénifra, 2 in Draa-Tafilalet and one each in Laayoun-Sakia EL Hamra, Guelmim-Oued Noun and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab.
According to the report, the contamination index in Morocco is 1003 for every 100,000 inhabitants, that is 12 for every 100,000 inhabitants in the previous 24 hours, with the exception of 16,754 unreached cases. Thus, the rate of unreached cases is 3 million 631 thousand 695, while the total number of positive cases currently being treated is 43 968.
The number of serious cases in the intensive care and resuscitation unit recorded in the previous 24 hours is 135 cases. This brings the total number of such cases to 991, including 81 under artificial ventilation and 520 under spontaneous ventilation.
