The “Israel in Arabic” page on “Twitter” confirmed that direct flights between Morocco and Israel will begin after Ramadan. The same page, under the Israeli Foreign Ministry, quoted Abdel-Rahim Bayoud, director of the Moroccan liaison office in Tel Aviv, who said: “After the month of Ramadan, we will operate direct flights between the two countries.”

For his part, David Govrin, head of the Israeli liaison office in Morocco, announced that travel agencies would visit Morocco, in order to discover and identify tourist places on the Kingdom, as part of its preparations to bring Israeli tourists to visit Morocco shortly after the end of the Coronavirus crisis. Guvrin wrote a tweet on his official Twitter page, in which he said that Israeli travel agents arrived in Morocco as part of tours to discover tourist sites pending the official start of direct flights between Morocco and Israel in the coming weeks. He added that this visit will prepare the way for attracting tourists and Israelis to Morocco and will contribute to strengthening the relationship and peace between the two peoples.

Earlier, Abdel-Rahim Bayoud met Ofir Akunis, the Israeli Minister of Regional Cooperation, to discuss the cooperation agreements signed between Morocco and Israel. According to Bayoud, the Moroccan people love Israel and consider Jewish traditions as an integral part of Moroccan culture, and hope for more cooperation between the two countries, according to a report published by the Israeli media.

For his part, the Israeli minister stressed the importance of the agreement between the two countries, especially in the areas of trade, economy, tourism, technology and innovation. He said that this agreement “fundamentally changes the political situation in our region and creates a new atmosphere in the Middle East”. He then added, according to the same source, that the Ministry of Regional Cooperation “will work to promote joint projects in both countries. “All citizens of Israel, without exception, are happy and excited about the relations that are being established between the two countries,” he concluded.
