Morocco: the price of chicken continues to rise

The prices of poultry meat continue to soar in Morocco to reach 25 DH per kilo, especially in Casablanca and Rabat, causing anger and incomprehension of consumers who often fall back on this cheap meat compared to red meat.

According to a professional, this price increase is related to the low production and the rising cost of food, in addition to the high demand for poultry meat in this period marked by the organization of weddings and holidays. Not to mention the effect of the health crisis on the sector.

On social networks, many Moroccans, whose purchasing power is already undermined by the effects of the pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian war, are complaining about this new increase and call on the authorities to intervene to remedy the situation.
