Tourist revival: Morocco replaces the classic visa with an e-visa

While the Kingdom is betting big on this summer to remedy the losses of previous summer seasons, the government has announced the introduction of an electronic visa dedicated to foreigners subject to the visa to enter Morocco. The application as well as the recovery of the document is done online within a period not exceeding 72 hours, explained the government spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, during the traditional press briefing at the end of the Council of Government. The validity of this visa is 30 days, said the minister, mentioning a possible extension of six months.

This measure concerns three categories of foreigners, he noted. These are nationals subject to visa to enter Morocco residents of the European Union, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland, Australia and Japan.

Foreigners holding Schengen visas from the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland and New Zealand, are also affected by this measure, adds Baitas, pointing out that nationals of Thailand and Israel are also included, as they enjoy easy entry to the Schengen area and the United States.
The stamp duties for visas will be published shortly in the Official Bulletin, he confirmed.
