The Office has achieved, at the end of the month of July 2022, a growth in the influx of passengers, with more than 4.5 million passengers, an overall evolution of 30% compared to the same period a year earlier, and 20% compared to 2019 year before Covid.
This growth also includes Al Boraq trains, with more than 55% compared to the same period in 2021 and +40% compared to 2019. “Confirming the success of this new icon of mobility among travelers, thanks to its undeniable advantages in terms of reduced travel time, enhanced comfort on board, maintained punctuality and very attractive prices,” says ONCF in its statement.
Then, this balance sheet also shows historic record days, after recording the transport of 182,000 passengers/day including more than 20,000/day for the Al Boraq trains alone, says the same source.
To cope with this period of post-covid recovery, ONCF has implemented a special summer 2022, which is based on the programming of more than 232 trains/day, including 30 Al Boraq trains running daily in both directions, as well as the strengthening of capacities on the main axes of the rail network and ultimately the doubling of 10 Al Boraq trains (a train doubled every 3 hours offering a capacity of 1066 seats).
On the other hand, the ONCF special summer 2022 plan has required a mobilization of human and material resources of the Office, which has helped to better accompany and assist passengers throughout their journey in stations and trains, said the Office, while ensuring the best conditions of comfort, safety and regularity, including during the period of Aid Al-Adha.
Complementing this plan, ONCF makes the train even more accessible to different segments of its clientele through very competitive tariff offers for family travel, group or individual as well as for the MRE. “These offers are tailored to all customer needs and allow them to fully enjoy their vacations at reduced prices,” reads the statement.
