Dismantling of a gang of copper telephone cable thieves

No less than 116 kg of copper cables were seized on Monday, January 30, by the elements of the anti-gang squad under the prefecture of security in Marrakech, a police source said. A car, 4×4, a scale and several other materials and equipment facilitating this criminal task were also seized by the officers, added the same source who said that two convicts, aged respectively thirty-four and forty-five years, were disabled. Other members of this band who are on the run are actively sought by the police.

According to the same source, the two suspects who are currently in the hands of the police had damaged through the four corners of the city of Marrakech and its surroundings of public interest facilities by stealing copper telephone cables.
