On Sunday, members of the Judicial Police Brigade at the Oulad Teima regional police station arrested a 31-year-old man for his alleged involvement in the possession and trafficking of smuggled firecrackers and fireworks, according to a security source.
The accused was caught in the act of trafficking firecrackers on Taqadom Avenue in Oulad Teima, said the same source, noting that the searches carried out led to the seizure of 811 units of firecrackers and fireworks of various types that were in his possession.
The suspect was subjected to the procedures of the judicial investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to identify the source of these contraband products and to detect any possible ramifications of this criminal act, the same source continued. This operation is part of the efforts made by the national security services to combat the trafficking of explosive materials, the use of which represents a serious danger to the safety of people and their property.
