Rabbi Pinto & the Earthquake in Morocco

Along with thousands of people, Rabbi Pinto prayed for the Kingdom of Morocco, led by King Mohammed VI, and for the Moroccan nation.

The earthquake in Morocco on Saturday claimed many victims: thousands dead and injured, and many left homeless. Last night, in front of ten thousand people at Israel’s largest Jewish event, held at the Menorah Mitvathim stadium in Tel Aviv, Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto offered a special prayer for the healing of the injured.

Together with thousands of people, Rabbi Pinto prayed for the Kingdom of Morocco, led by King Mohammed VI, and for the Moroccan nation, which is currently facing a great catastrophe. At the heart of the prayer ceremony was the blessing “He who gives peace to kings”, a unique and rare prayer intended to bless the King of Morocco and his family.

At the time of the earthquake, Rabbi Pinto was at home in the Moroccan city of Rabat. As soon as he heard the news, he gathered his followers and began praying for the healing of the injured. After Shabbat, Rabbi Pinto travelled to Israel to take part in a major event at the Menorah Mivathim stadium in Tel Aviv, attended by over ten thousand people, during which he prayed and recited Seli’hot accompanied by the closing of thousands of books of the Zohar.

Rabbi Pinto also called on all his students around the world to mobilize, and to help with financial donations and any other possible contributions to support the Moroccan nation currently immersed in grief and suffering.
