20 years’ imprisonment for killing his mistress

Twenty years’ imprisonment was the verdict handed down by the criminal division of the Tangier Court of Appeal against a young man who unintentionally shot and killed his mistress in Larache.
The case dates back to Thursday November 5, 2020, when the young man, in the company of his mistress and her friend, had just entered a furnished apartment in the L’Océan district of Larache, which he had rented for a single night. In short, the three of them were looking forward to an evening of drinking. From hashish to alcoholic beverages, they had no idea that they were about to embark on a tragic journey.

At around 11:30 p.m., the suspect, who had raised his elbow, picked up a shotgun he was carrying so as not to keep it in the car. Immediately, he stood up while trying to dance and play with the shotgun, a bullet leaving the barrel to lodge itself directly in the head of the young girl, aged twenty-five. She soon gave up the ghost. The suspect fled, while his friend stood by the corpse waiting for the police to arrive. The next day, the suspect was caught and brought to justice. His friend, who had nothing to do with the manslaughter, was prosecuted for drunkenness and drug use.
