Noussair Mazraoui Threatened for Lions Gathering

Bad news for Ajax Amsterdam and the Atlas Lions. Noussair Mazraoui injured his ankle on Monday with the Ajax reserve. The player left the pitch with a limp.

Noussair Mazraoui, who started with Jong Ajax (Ajax reserve team) against NAC Breda (2-4 defeat) on Monday 17 February to regain pace and more playing time, came off with an injury in the 70th minute.

The player was hit in the ankle and the duration of his unavailability has still not been reported by the Dutch team. He is therefore difficult to recover for the 16th Europa League first leg final against Getafe on Thursday and consequently for the national team’s reunion (23-31 March).

This season Mazraoui has played 13 Eredivisie matches (nine of them as a first-team regular) with Ajax after 22 rounds. He is currently overshadowed by his rival from American Sergiño Dest.
