Schools Take Action against Coronavirus

Following the detection of the first case of Coronavirus infection in Morocco, the regional directorates of the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research mobilized to organize awareness campaigns on means of prevention in various public and private establishments, as well as distributing numerous information leaflets to teachers and students to explain methods of preventing infection.

The directors of educational establishments in some regions, such as Lafkih Ben Saleh, from which many members of the Moroccan community residing in Italy originate, have received urgent correspondence from the Ministry’s regional delegate informing them of the need to equip all water points used by administrative and educational staff, as well as by pupils, with liquid soap as part of an awareness campaign on the prevention of the virus, promising to provide them with this product in sufficient quantities from the Regional Directorate in the very near future.

In addition, many pages on social networks have circulated rumors about the closure of schools from last Wednesday, after the discovery of the first case of infection, and to bring forward the date of the school holidays, scheduled for the end of this month.

In a press release issued to the media, the Ministry of National Education denied this information, calling on citizens to find out about the news via its website or its official pages on social networks. However, this same rumor spread again after the second case of infection was identified in Morocco.
