Emmanuelle Chriqui: A Woman Born with a Natural Artistic Gift

Emmanuelle Chriqui was born on December 10, 1975, with ambitious dreams. At the age of 10, she left school to devote herself to the fulfillment of her dream of becoming a world-famous actress. She was greatly influenced by the films of the American director Stephen Spielberg.

Emmanuelle Chriqui was born in Montreal, where her parents immigrated from Morocco. She belongs to a Moroccan Jewish family. Her mother was born in Casablanca and her father was born in Rabat. Despite her reputation, she has remained attached to the Moroccan customs and traditions that her parents taught her.

She discovered her passion for the theater when she was still in primary school and participated in all the plays when she was barely 9 years old. She wanted to go to drama school but her parents could not afford it. Thanks to her older brother who paid for her acting lessons, she was able to find her way in the world of art.

Her beginnings were in advertisements when she was only 10 years old. Her first commercial was for McDonald’s. In the mid-1990s, she managed to pick up small roles in Canadian television series and films after moving from Toronto, where she spent much of her childhood and youth, to Vancouver, where the opportunities were greater.

She starred in “Faites-moi peur”, a series for teenagers, before she got a small part in the movie “Detroit Rock City” and then another in the movie “White Gore” in 2000.
