Measures Taken to Support the Resumption of Tourism

The resumption of tourist activity is marked by the strong efforts of The Minister of Health, Khalid Ait Taleb, said Friday in Rabat, that a comprehensive plan aimed at ensuring health and safety conditions in all cities of the Kingdom is in place.

Speaking at the opening of a consultation meeting chaired by the Minister of Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, Ait Taleb stressed the importance of ensuring all security conditions to accommodate Moroccans residing abroad who want to spend the summer holidays and Aid Al Adha in Morocco in the best conditions, as was the case for the baccalaureate exams.

A series of measures have been taken to support the resumption of tourist activites, notably through the guidance of hotel managers to welcome tourists without any problem and in adequate sanitary conditions, he said, stressing that coordinating health commissions will ensure that the operation is accompanied on the ground.

In addition, Ait Taleb assured that the epidemic situation in the Kingdom remains stable in view of the low rate of deaths and critical cases, noting that 99% of the confirmed cases of Covid-19 are symptomless.

However, it is necessary to respect preventive measures, including the wearing of masks and social distancing, the Minister of Health concluded.

This meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport and Social Economy, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, and professionals of the tourism sector, was dedicated to the examination of the means capable of ensuring a gradual and successful recovery of tourist activity in the Kingdom in the difficult context imposed by the repercussions of the health crisis of Covid-19.
