Neighborhood Health Centers to Receive Coronavirus Cases

Neighborhood reference health centers will be deployed to receive suspected cases of coronavirus. These will be transferred by the private or public sector or neighborhood pharmacies to increase the number of screening areas for the management of cases. This management will be done at home for asymptomatic cases who do not suffer from chronic diseases and do not pose a risk to their surroundings and whose housing infrastructure allows them to be treated at home. The Minister of Health Khalid Ait Taleb said Tuesday in a webinar under the theme “Epidemiological situation of Covid-19 is worrying: The response”.

The minister said that this operation is being carried out in coordination with representatives of the territorial administration and will give patients the opportunity to examine their cardiogram, perform other tests required and gives them access to drugs with continuous medical monitoring. Other cases that cannot be treated at home will be taken care of in different health centers.

The Minister of Health noted during the webinar that the increase in the number of cases infected with the virus was expected after the easing of containment measures and the increase in the number of screening tests. However, he stressed, this does not relieve citizens of their responsibility to comply with the current situation.

The Minister added that this increase in the number of infected people, combined with the arrival of serious cases in hospitals and emergency rooms, threatens the health of those infected as well as that of the rest of the citizens who need these services to save their lives”. He also stressed the importance of applying preventive measures and remaining cautious in the fight against the pandemic. He said that this will save the individuals, the small family and the big family that is the country.

The Minister stressed the importance of applying preventive measures, including the wearing of masks, physical distancing and hand sanitization on a regular basis, pointing out that the wearing of masks is mandatory and that legal action will be taken against those who do not comply with the law.
