Morocco: No Vacation Abroad this Summer for Ministers

Saâeddine El Othmani issued a letter to his ministers, as well as to other state officials, ordering them not to travel abroad for their summer holidays.

This decision of the head of government does not only concern this summer, but remains valid until the end of 2020.

In view of the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis on the national economy in general and the tourism sector in particular, the above-mentioned letter also urges for other measures to be taken.

Thus, conferences, training sessions, among other events regularly organized by the various ministerial departments and public administrations, must be held in tourist establishments throughout the Kingdom.

The aim is to boost the national economy and to give a great and beneficial boost to the tourist sector, which is suffering a lot because of the new Coronavirus pandemic. More importantly, it is also suffering from the effects of the sanitary emergency measures decided by the competent authorities since last March.
