Coronavirus/Morocco: The Geographical Distribution of Covid-19

The Ministry of Health announced, on Friday, 4592 new cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19), 4228 cases cured and 70 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The ministry explained on its report of epidemiological situation of Morocco that the new result brought the total number of cases in the Kingdom to 345,276 cases since the announcement of the first case on March 2. Meanwhile, the total number of cases cured rose to 294,036, with a cure rate of 85.2%. As for the number of deaths, it increased to 5,689, bringing the case-fatality rate to 1.6%.

The cases recorded in the previous 24 hours are distributed as follows: Casablanca-Settat (1727), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (937), Souss-Massa (407), Tangier-Tetouan-Hoceima (372), Marrakech-Safi (354), the East (196) and Guelmim Oued Noun (167).

Laayoun-Sakia LHamra (150), Fez-Meknes (105), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (41), and Draa-Tafilalet (61).

Regarding the number of deaths, the ministry’s report recorded 18 cases in the Casablanca-Settat region, 7 in Tangier-Tetouan-Hoceima, 6 in Fez-Meknes, 6 each in Marrakesh-Safi and the East, 13 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 5 in Souss-Massa and Béni Mellal-Khénifra, and one case in both Draa-Tafilalet, and in Guelmim-Oued Noun.

According to the report, The number of serious cases in the intensive care and resuscitation unit recorded in the previous 24 hours is 128 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 1031, of which 87 under artificial ventilation and 430 under spontaneous ventilation.
