Will Britain Become the Second Authority to Recognize the Moroccan Sahara after America?

Britain welcomed the recognition by the United States of the Moroccan Sahara, considering that this decision reflects the efforts made by the Kingdom at all levels to develop the Sahara region and strengthen its sovereignty.

The newspaper “El Espanol” said that given the deep diplomatic relations between Morocco and the United Kingdom, the latter intends to open its consulate in Dakhla to declare its recognition of the Moroccan Sahara.

The Spanish newspaper added that Great Britain has economic agreements with Morocco, and that after Brexit, these agreements will be more important in order to supply British markets with Moroccan agricultural products, fish and phosphate.

The newspaper also mentioned that French businessmen in Morocco are pressuring the French government to recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara and strengthen the common economic interests between the two countries in the region.
