House of Representatives adopts government programme by a majority

The House of Representatives adopted by a majority, this Wednesday during a plenary session, the governmental programme presented by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, before the two Chambers of Parliament, in accordance with the provisions of Article 88 of the Constitution.

The government programme was adopted by 213 votes to 64 with one abstention.

Thus, the House granted its confidence to the new government in accordance with Article 88 of the Constitution which stipulates: “The government is invested after having obtained the confidence of the House of Representatives, expressed by the vote of an absolute majority of the members of the said House, in favour of the government’s programme”.

After the adoption of the government’s programme by the House of Representatives, the new Executive will have completed the constitutional requirements to exercise its prerogatives and become accountable to Parliament.
