“Pilot projects will be developed, the result of the joint work of the employment services of Portugal and Morocco, aiming not only to give companies in need of labor more opportunities for recruitment, but also to ensure that the process will take place in legal and dignified conditions,” said a statement on the joint declaration of Younes Sekkouri and Miguel Fontes, signed on Wednesday on the sidelines of the work of the 5th Ministerial Meeting of the UfM on employment and labor, held in Marrakech on 17 and 18 May.
And to recall that Morocco and Portugal have decided to establish a legal and regulated migration channel, through the signing of a historic agreement on employment and residence of Moroccan workers in Portugal. A decision that is part of the implementation of the Global Compact on Migration, adopted in Marrakech in December 2018 by the United Nations (UN).
The multisectoral working group that will soon be born will include members of the relevant government cabinets, the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training of Portugal, and the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC), according to the same source.
