Trump Makes Serious Accusations against WHO

The US President Donald Trump has made serious accusations against the World Health Organization, saying that the organization had ignored numerous warnings about Coronavirus, preferring to remain focused on the information provided by China, while minimizing the seriousness of the virus that has killed hundreds of thousands of people.

In a tweet published on his official page and reported by the international media, Trump said WHO had failed to respond to the crisis and remained focused on information from China during the first stage of the outbreak, despite the fact that the United States is the organization’s main funder, promising to take the necessary measures later and suggesting the possibility of interrupting US funding for the organization.

“We did the right thing when we closed the border with China early, although the World Health Organization advised us not to do so. But we rejected their advice at the appropriate time. We don’t know what the real purpose of their advice was,” he added.

For its part, the WHO rejected the US president’s accusations about ” a focus on China ” and warned against stopping funding at this critical stage of the global epidemic, saying, through its regional director in Europe, that the timing of the suspension of WHO funding is inappropriate.
