The Supreme Council of the Islamic Ummah stressed that this year’s Eid el-Fitr prayer must be fulfilled at home to protect the health and safety of citizens in the face of the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The aim is to preserve the safety of citizens and their health in the face of the spread of the deadly pandemic, in accordance with God’s word: “Do not throw yourselves by your own hands into destruction” and the religious rule: “The preservation of human life takes precedence over the preservation of religions”.
Thus, the reward and recompense of the one who has performed this prayer at home, individually or with family members, is the same for the one who has performed it in normal times at the moussala or mosque with the community.
