Carpooling is starting to have its followers in Morocco, especially because of the soaring fuel prices and the high cost of travel tickets. This means, very used and popular in Europe for decades, is beginning to be known here and many young people have adopted it to go celebrate Eid Al-Adha, near theirs residing in other cities and, also, in order to avoid the rush and anarchy that know the Moroccan bus stations for several days.
Carpooling has therefore become, by force of circumstance and for some years now, the chosen means of travel in Morocco, via numerous applications and pages on social networks, setting the date and time of travel, the expected number of passengers, the place of assembly, as well as the price to be paid for such or such destination.
And in the run-up to Eid Al-Adha, many sections of the population have strongly criticized the high fares of buses and large cabs. These facts have led many citizens to use carpooling vehicles and share the costs of travel, while avoiding controversy and chaos about the rising prices of public transport.
