After his residency in Chefchaouen, the young Panamanian painter, Michelle Hart, said she was satisfied with her second visit to Morocco, after a first stay in Agadir in 2018. “It was a wonderful experience, because it allowed me to get to know artists from Morocco and the Middle East and to establish very positive links with them,” she said in an interview with “Le Matin”.
For the Central American artist, the choice of an artistic residency in Chefchaouen is not a risky one: “I am here because, first of all, it was Hamid Hadri, the famous Moroccan artist who invited me to stay in his guest house “torre Hadra”, then I realized that by discovering the city of Chefchaouen, I could perfectly produce an intercultural work, making the blue pearl known in my region (Chiriqui) and vice versa”.
Through her abnormal art, Michelle Hart wants to create a link between Panamanian and Moroccan cultures. The natural landscapes of Morocco and the brightness released by her colors inspire her to use new techniques and colors in her paintings. “Colours like blue (Chefchaouen) and red (Marrakech) also identify us to Panama. I am very fascinated by the cultural diversity and natural landscapes of the country. The magnificence of its mountains and the magic of its cities constantly inspire me,” she added.
Michelle produces an art of disproportionate particularity. In particular, she uses highly original techniques and varies the elements she uses for her works, such as melted beeswax or the use of gold.
I was wondering if you ever considered changing the page layout of your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
