Given the results of daily monitoring operations and regular evaluation carried out by the monitoring and surveillance committees, and following the increase in the number of cases of Coronavirus in Casablanca prefecture as well as the serious health needs, the government has decided to take a series of measures to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the prefecture, starting this Monday, September 7.
In a statement, the government specifies that these measures consist of the closure of all exits from the prefecture of Casablanca and to subject the movement to and from its territory to an exceptional authorization issued by local authorities. They also consist of the closure of all schools (primary, middle schools, high schools and universities), with the adoption of distance learning as of this Monday.
In addition, all local markets will be closed at 3 p.m. As for cafés and shops, they will be closed at 8 p.m. and restaurants at 9 p.m. Moreover, there will be a ban on night travel throughout the prefecture between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., except for health and safety managers, employees in vital and sensitive sectors and those working in the transportation of goods, on condition that they can justify their night work, according to the same source.
These measures will remain in force for the next 14 days and the epidemiological situation in the city will be subject to a careful and continuous assessment to make appropriate decisions, the statement added. The government calls on citizens to strictly comply with the directives of the public authorities and the preventive measures enacted, especially the mandatory wearing of protective masks, hygiene rules and physical distance in public spaces.
