Dakhla hosts an important Moroccan-Spanish investment forum

This event will be the first economic meeting of its kind since Madrid considered the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco “the most serious, realistic and credible basis for resolving the dispute” of the Moroccan Sahara.

Many Spanish businessmen, including Catalonia and Andalusia, will take part in this event organized by the Regional Council of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab and the Ministry of Trade and Industry. This meeting devoted to investment comes a week after the great Moroccan-American forum held in New York.  
The Moroccan-Spanish Forum will include speeches by the Minister of Industry, Ryad Mezzour, and the President of the region, Yanja El Khettat, on investment opportunities for Moroccan and Spanish operators in the region Dakhla-Oued Eddahab under the new roadmap developed between Rabat and Madrid last April.  
During this promising economic event, more than a hundred Spanish businessmen will take part in various panels: “what investments and what infrastructure for a green industry?”, “innovative and sustainable key sectors: agriculture, fisheries and agro-industrial activities” or “the tertiary sector, lever of attractiveness of the territory and improving the business climate.

In 2021, “Morocco exported about 7.3 billion euros to Spain while imports from the Iberian Peninsula amounted to 9.5 billion euros, recall the interlocutors, noting that the southern provinces of Morocco are experiencing an accelerated development dynamic, driven by the new development model.
